Les Tissages de Charlieu (LTC) is a historic French textile manufacturer founded in 1902 in Charlieu, Loire, within the renowned Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes textile region. With over a century of weaving expertise, the company has evolved under the leadership of Eric Boël into a forward-thinking enterprise that blends traditional craftsmanship with innovation, design, and sustainability. Deeply rooted in French heritage, LTC continues to champion local manufacturing and eco-responsible production.
Renowned for its mastery in jacquard weaving, Les Tissages de Charlieu has earned prestigious recognitions, including the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label for heritage excellence, as well as GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certifications for its commitment to sustainable materials and ethical production. The company produces millions of metres of fabrics annually and develops hundreds of new designs each month, serving both fashion and interior industries.
LTC’s product range includes woven jacquard fabrics, plain weaves, and technical textiles for applications across fashion, home décor, and industry. In addition, it has launched in-house brands such as Létol, Tonnerre de Belt, and Indispensac, offering eco-designed accessories like scarves, belts, and bags that showcase the creativity and quality of French weaving.
Sustainability lies at the heart of LTC’s mission. The company operates on 100% renewable hydropower, prioritizes circular economy principles, and sources over half of its raw materials from organic, recycled, or locally produced fibers. Its philosophy is clear: to prove that producing responsibly and locally in France is not only possible but essential for the future of sustainable textiles.
